Participants of “Green Agriculture without Borders” actively spent time at the exhibition “Expo Aukštaitija 2020” and the next day went to farms in Panevėžys district.
This two-day cross-border event took place in a slightly different format than originally planned. Participants from Latvia and Belarus had sent their products and information leaflets, which they were entrusted to present by Lithuanian partners. The products of the participants from the neighboring countries were shown live, profiles were displayed on the screen, flyers were distributed and stories were told.
The next day, study visits were organized to the Janina snail farm. Here we were greeted by a group of creeping animals. Thanks to Janina Krikštaponiene for this unusual experience!
We continued our way to Ilzenberg manor and farm. Participants had already heard about this farm, which had previously been officially based on biodynamic farming, during theoretical training, so it was important for them to see it on their own. Here we had lunch and tasted the products naturally grown on the manor farm.
We ended the day in a peaceful Lavender farm. Thank you hosts for the warm welcome, fragrant tea!
Project partners prepared a video report from the exhibition and study visits to farms for Latvian and Belarusan participants, which can be viewed here:
The project is implemented in accordance with 2014-2020. European Neighborhood Instrument cross-border cooperation program between Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus.
